About Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) include a broad range of approaches and interventions that are based on the idea that how we feel emotionally is driven by the interactions between our thoughts, beliefs and actions or responses.
Whilst particular CBT approaches are proven to be effective for specific problems, what actually happens in successful therapy can look quite different for each individual. You will find that my therapy approach will empower you to make decisions on the best way to address your difficulties, based on our shared understanding of the evidence-base for how these experiences might have developed and be maintained.
What is CBT helpful for?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a first-line recommended treatment for a broad range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, and trauma-related problems including PTSD. It can also be helpful to manage the impact of a range of personal challenges, such as work-related stress, long-term health conditions, or major life-events.
I also provide specialised CBT for Insomnia and sleep problems, which can often be effective in as little as 4-6 sessions .
